Veda Neville and her Dad

Jodi, sent me some pictures, and this was one of them. I had never (to my knowledge) seen her. I don't remember her at all, I think I was 3 or 4 when she died. I would love anyone to comment on this blog, if you have a story or a memory of her, that would be awesome to post. Joanna spent a summer with her, and she probably has some good stories to tell. Also if someone could get some stories from George that would be good.

This picture would have been taken within a year or two of his murder in Idaho Falls at his grocery store on West Lee Avenue

Dad told me last night that Veda's Dad had remarried the babysitter after her mother's "suspected" suicide. She resented the stepmother very much. Dad also said that her mom had taked strichnyne and that is what killed her, but it was also common for women to take small doses of that for depression and she had suffered from depression, and had purchased the drugs earlier that week. So I guess it is not clear about the intentions of her death. I also went online(from JoAnna) and you can put in dad and moms name in "nauvoopageantcousins.org" and it pulls up all of our ancestors on both sides, Names only, but very interesting to see it all layed out.

On that note. (Paraphrased from JoAnna), Patty Bartlett Sessions is our 3rd Great Grandma and a famous pioneeer woman who was a midwife and also doctored thousands of people. There is a journal she wrote and it was published under BYU I think. I saw parts of it online, if you google her name. It is cool to think that she was sealed to Joseph Smith, but married to David Sessions. There are funny entries of her daily life that you would like to read.

I have to say I can't believe that I wrote, "her mom had taked strichnyne". I would erase it but I don't know how
